Yarns with a story

Each one of our yarns has a story of how it came to be.  The story of the sheep, the shepherds who mind their animals and how the fleeces and yarns were processed. We produce a variety of yarns ranging from individual hands-spun fleeces (special sheep from from our own flock), to larger batches of fleeces from friends' flocks that are sent to UK mills for spinning. Every fleece passes through our hands for sorting and quality.  All yarns have clear Scottish provenance and the breeds and blends are clearly indicated.

Fleeces that don't make it into yarns are made into woollen rugs in my wool shed!

Yarn range

Yarns are available to purchase through our online shop.  Yarns are also available at yarn shows countrywide and also at our wool shed on the Croft!

Rugs

I make handwoven rugs from sheep's fleece right here in my wool shed. Shorn fleeces are selected, washed and woven on a peg loom to make chunky, textural and individual rugs.  These are sold at wool events and local markets.  Photos below are examples of rugs sold.

I teach peg loom weaving and I can take commissions to make rugs from your own sheep's fleece (contact me to discuss!).
